‘Love is Blind Germany’: The Filming Location of the Matchmaking Show
After the singles flew to Stockholm for the initial phase of the experiment in the so-called pods, they were then allowed to travel to the Greek island of Crete as engaged couples to spend the romantic retreat phase of the experiment there. Above all, the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff is always praised and emphasized. The privacy is also mentioned several times, and one guest even wrote the following on Tripadvisor: “The staff made you feel like you were the only ones staying there.” Ideal conditions for a romantic getaway for two. Amenities such as the hotel’s restaurant and the wide range of sports on offer are also well received by many.
However, one user complained in a review on Holidaycheck that the food was “great, but very expensive.” The stay is not exactly cheap in other respects either. According to one guest, he was told on request that heating the pool would cost 100 euros per day—but was not informed of this beforehand. Otherwise, however, the reviews of guests who were very satisfied with their stay outweigh the criticism. The room prices are around 300 euros upwards.
